My intention is to accompany each student through the act of creation — teaching the craft of building in three dimensions, the reading of plans, the appreciation of proportion, and the unavoidable steps that bring a sculpture to life.
How a workshop unfolds
Small groups of four to six are welcomed at the Vallauris atelier (parking on site). Clay and tools are included; firing is available as a supplement. Lunch is usually taken on the premises — bring a picnic, or visit one of the nearby restaurants.
Pieces are either taken home unfired at the end of the workshop or left at the atelier to dry before firing (three to six weeks, depending on the volume). Once out of the kiln, you will be contacted to collect your sculpture.
For whom
Workshops are open to everyone — beginners and experienced alike. No prior practice is required; for beginners, the choice of model can be guided according to its difficulty.
The essential thing is to learn and progress in a relaxed atmosphere.
Format & fees
One-day pottery workshops or two-day themed workshops, from 10:00 to 17:00 (arrival fifteen minutes before). €120 for the pottery day, €240 for a two-day workshop (face, animal, or another model after agreement on feasibility) — clay and tools included, firing €25 in supplement.
Registration is required by email or telephone. A €80 deposit secures your place; it is only charged in the event of cancellation within two weeks of the start date. A minimum of four participants is required to confirm the workshop.
Other
Birthdays, corporate events and "awakening to clay" workshops for children from the age of six can be organised on request.
