About Karine Garzi

Artistic approach

The work of Karine Garzi starts from the human figure — not as anecdote, but as carrier of emotion and movement. In the clay, and later in the bronze, she searches for the moment before the gesture, the tension the body holds.

Her sculptures are marked by a raw, living surface across which the light keeps shifting. The patina — copper, dark, verdigris — is not decoration but a skin.

Biography

Welcome to the world of Karine Garzi, a self-taught sculptor passionate about clay and bronze. For more than fifteen years, she has explored the richness of these materials to bring to life works imbued with emotion and sensitivity.

A native of Vallauris, Karine has always lived surrounded by the ceramists who have populated the town since Picasso.

She trained on her own at the workshop and refined her bronze techniques at the Barthélémy foundry in Crest.
